Hello folks, Welcome to my blog… 👋🏻‍‍

Today we are preparing Pooran Poli…😋

Puran Poli is an Indian sweet flatbread. Poli defines the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi and other festive occasions like Diwali.✨

Thin wheat flour Rotis with a delicious Puran stuffing in the middle…Ummm I can feel it…😋

The Puran which is made with a mixture of boiled mashed chana dal.

So without talking about so much let’s get started to cook this delicious dish…this dish takes your time but gives back delicious results…work hard this dish will pay you back more than that.

so let’s prepare👨🏼‍🍳

We will need Prep Time: 51–60 minutes

And Cook time: 21–25 minutes

Taste of the Dish: Sweet

Let Take the following Ingredients… 🍽

For Dough:

  • 2 cups Wheat flour
  • 1 cup Maida / All purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups Water
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tsp Oil

For Puran:

  • 1 cup Chana dal
  • 1 cup Jaggery / Gudh
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom

Are you ready with all the ingredients mentioned in the above list? Well, then let’s start with some cooking… 👨‍🍳

For Preparation Of Puran:

  • Take chana dal and wash it well.
  • Transfer the dal with water in Cooker and cook on medium heat until 3 whistles.
  • Drain excess water with the help of a strainer.
  • Do not throw away this water. You can use it to make “katachi Amti”. Add a little mashed Dal with it if you want.
  • Mash the dal with potato masher really good. No grains of dal should be left behind.
  • Transfer the dal into microwave/ You can cook Puran on gas too. Mix mashed dal and jaggery and cook on medium heat.
  • Microwave Puran for just 2 minutes. After 2 minutes take the bowl out and mix Puran well. The same process for Gas users mix Puran And Gudh in medium flame
  • Though it looks a bit thin, it will thicken up as it will cool down.
  • Add nutmeg powder and mix well.
  • Puran is ready.

For Preparation Of Dough:

Dough process is easy it’s like Roti

  • On a plate, take wheat flour. Add maida and salt to taste.
  • Add a little water at a time and make Soft dough of it.
  • Don’t add more water at a time.
  • Add oil and knead the dough again.
  • Repeat the procedure until the dough doesn’t stick to your hand.

LET’S Make a Puran Poli❤️

  • Take a medium size ball of dough and make Pari.
  • You can roll ” Poli from this ball, stuff Puran like paratha and make Puran Poli too
  • Dip it in dry flour and roll Poli.
  • Heat up a pan on medium heat. When Pan is enough hot, transfer the rolled Poli on a pan.
  • Roast from one side for just 2 minutes until small bubbles begin to appear.
  • Flip over and spread a little ghee.
  • You can use oil if you like.
  • Flip over again and spread ghee on the Other side again.
  • Roast from both sides really good.
  • Puran Poli is already. Serve with lots of ghee.

so our dish is ready to eat…!
